Athlete Spotlight

We interviewed Ashton Anderson (5th grade), and Taci Vickery (8th grade), who are two athletes here at Prairie Grove.
Ashton’s Interview:
Q~What sport do you play?
A~ “Basketball and baseball.”
Q~What do you like about this sport?
A~ “Basketball I like because your more mobile in some games, unlike soccer you can actually touch the ball with your hands, and baseball when I get to hit the ball.”
Q~What is challenging about the sport?
A~ “The running and the pressure.”
Q~How long have you been playing?
A~ “I started baseball this year and basketball in 2nd grade.”
Q~What would you say to somebody who wants to play this sport?
A~ “I’d say they should because we need new players because our basketball team wasn’t good.”
Taci’s Interview:
Q~What sport do you play?
A~ “I play volleyball and softball.”
Q~What do you like about this sport?
A~ “I like bonding with my teammates and hitting people in the face with the volleyball.”
Q~What is challenging about the sport?
A~ “It’s hard to pass sometimes or get along with some of the people when they don’t listen or they don’t do it right when we’ve already done it a million times.”
Q~How long have you been playing?
A~ “I’ve been playing volleyball since 7th grade and softball I’ve been playing since I was about 4 or 5.”
Q~What would you say to somebody who wants to play this sport?
A~ “You should because it’s really fun way to meet new people, make new friends, and be on a team while winning awards.”
